Death Note

Whooo hooo finally weekend has arrived! I got something to blog about! Well it's something I want to share with my friends!!!

Recently I got myself hooked on this comic call "Death Note". The storyline attracts me! Usually I hate comic book like One Piece and Bleach or Naruto kind because it's always out-of-the-world scenario. Whereas Death Note is more towards modern society backdrop. Well it kind of mixed with some fantasy element.

Death Note is about this God of Death, Ryuk, who dropped his "Death Note" (it's a notebook where the God of Death wrote the person's name when they want the person to die.) into the human world. Once the notebook got dropped into the human world, it would automatically belong to the human world. So he dropped his notebook, and there was this ace uni student called Light Yagami who saw the notebook and picked it up.

In the notebook, there were instructions on how to use the notebook to kill people. In order to kill someone, you have got to see the person's face before and must know the name, then the killing could be proccessed. The person who got the notebook could see the previous owner, which is the God of Death. There are many God of Death. Ryuk is one of them. And the God of Death would always follow the newest owner of the death notebook until the newest owner died or the notebook lifespan was over.

At first Light is very skeptical about this notebook, he thought it was a joke. Then one day, he tried to kill a criminal with the notebook and the criminal really died. Only then, he believed it was true! Anyway, if you write the person's name down yet you didn't write how he is going to die, after 40 seconds, the person would just die of heart attack. But if you did write down the reason, you could however manipulate the time of death for that person.

After seeing Ryuk and knowing that he had enormous power on his hand, he wanted to rid all the baddies and criminals out of the corrupted world. But on the other hand, a secret police detective name L appeared and challenged him. L could not condone his actions and he thought what Light did was a huge massacre. So he wanted to catch Light and put him behind bars.

Light on the other hand thought what he did was correct, and he bent on doing what he firmly believed was right. He wanted to rid the world off of baddies, but he got to be a bit too ambitious... He wanted to be the world's new age God!

So this comic book is more about Light vs L. It's very interesting!
It's also about how a human changes when he knows he has the power to change the world. The power blinded his goals and aspirations.

My favourite character in the comic book is Light and Ryuk the God of Death.

I like Light for his arrogant and full-of-himself kind of attitude. He is a very confident person. Very very smart too. But a pity! He is too arrogant for his own good. Now we all know that people who are like that won't have happy ending, don't we? Haha..

I like Ryuk for the character design! Very nice!
